Each one opens in the designer with your own text and pictures ready to change. The image is a 3D render of that design exactly as it prints.
Kids' rooms, offices and family names
The most-loved door sign is a child's name on their bedroom door: big, rounded letters in their favourite colours, maybe with a star or an animal they drew. For a home office, a simple "Office" or "Do not disturb" in a clean font does the job. A family name sign with "Est." and a year makes a thoughtful housewarming or wedding gift.
Signs come up to 200 mm wide and 4 mm thick, with letters raised a millimetre so they read from across the hall and cast a small shadow. A raised border frames the text.
Hanging it up
Every door sign template includes a hanging hole you can move anywhere, or remove if you'd rather mount it with removable tape. The sign weighs 20 to 60 grams depending on size, light enough for a single small nail or an adhesive hook.
Signs are for indoor use. The plastic can soften in high heat, so an outside door in full summer sun can warp it. For a sheltered porch it's fine, but for full sun choose a spot in the shade.
Designing a sign kids love
Let them choose the colours: the designer only offers colours we have in stock, and every combination previews instantly. Rounded, bold fonts read best on a door. How we make it
Your door sign is printed to order in solid, durable plastic, in fine layers with every colour running right through. Before it prints, we open your design and its preview and check that every detail will come out: that's the Maker Check. Then it's packed in a padded mailer and handed to Canada Post.
Shipping and timing
We print within a few business days of checking your order. Shipping is a flat CA$19.95 anywhere in Canada, tracked, and several prints share one mailer. Canada Post delivers in about 2 to 9 business days. Details on our shipping page.
Door signs: questions
How do I hang a door sign?
Through the built-in hanging hole with a small nail, hook or ribbon, or mount it with removable tape. You can move or remove the hole in the designer.
Can it go outside?
It's made for indoors or a sheltered spot. Direct summer sun on an outside door can warp it.
How big can a door sign be?
Up to 200 mm wide. Medium (up to 150 mm) suits a single name; large fits a family name with a second line.
Can I add my child's drawing?
Yes. Upload a photo of the drawing and it becomes solid colour areas on the sign, previewed before you order.
What fonts work best on a sign?
Bold, rounded fonts read best from a distance. Thin scripts can work at large sizes; the designer warns you if a font is too thin at your size.
