Shield plaque, a custom plaque 3D printed in several colours Render

Start from a design

Each one opens in the designer with your own text and pictures ready to change. The image is a 3D render of that design exactly as it prints.

Shields, hexagons and badges

A shield plaque with a crest and a team name suits a clubhouse wall, an award for the season's most-improved player or a gift for a coach. Hexagon tiles fit together edge to edge, so a set of pictures, pets or family initials can grow into a wall display one tile at a time. A logo badge is a round or rectangular plaque of a business or club logo, for a reception desk, a booth or a shelf.

Plaques are 4 mm thick and come in three tiers: small up to 60 mm, medium up to 100 mm and large up to 150 mm on the longest side. Larger plaques hold more detail and more colours (up to 8).

Getting a picture or crest right

Upload a crest, logo or photo and the designer turns it into flat colour regions matched to our in-stock spools. Crests and logos with solid colours look sharpest. Photos look like a bold poster print. Lines too fine to print are merged into their neighbours, and the preview shows the result before you pay, so the plaque matches what you saw.

Add a title above or below the picture in any of 125 fonts, and a raised border in a contrasting colour. Our guide to preparing a logo for 3D printing covers the file types that work best.

Mounting and care

Plaques are light (20 to 80 grams), so mounting tape or a small picture hook holds them. Keep them out of direct, strong sunlight and away from heat. For many identical plaques, such as a team set, design one and set the quantity; for a series of tiles with different pictures, copy the design and swap the picture. See our team and club gift ideas for more.

How we make it

Your plaque is printed to order in solid, durable plastic, in fine layers with every colour running right through. Before it prints, we open your design and its preview and check that every detail will come out: that's the Maker Check. Then it's packed in a padded mailer and handed to Canada Post.

Shipping and timing

We print within a few business days of checking your order. Shipping is a flat CA$19.95 anywhere in Canada, tracked, and several prints share one mailer. Canada Post delivers in about 2 to 9 business days. Details on our shipping page.

Custom plaques & badges: questions

How do I hang a plaque?

With mounting tape or a small picture hook. Plaques are light, from about 20 to 80 grams, so no heavy fixings are needed.

Can hexagon tiles fit together?

Yes. Tiles of the same size sit edge to edge, so you can build a wall display one tile at a time.

How many colours can a plaque have?

Up to 8. Large plaques hold the most detail, so a crest with many colours looks best at 100 mm or more.

Can I use a team or league logo?

Only if your club owns it or has permission. We check every order and refund any design we can't print for rights reasons.

Will the colours fade?

They are solid plastic, not paint, so they don't wear off. Like most plastics, very strong direct sunlight over years can fade them, so a shaded wall is best.
